Our Impact

We also help people register to vote. Our activities are conducted by volunteers who live in the areas being served. The activities are conducted on an ongoing daily basis and through periodic special events.

Albany Voter’s Coalition Day
Thank you Marvin Lim for Georgia for honoring Albany Voter’s coalition with HR 736: Recognizing February 8, 2022 as Albany Voter’s Coalition Day at the Georgia state capitol!
Our Wins
Albany Voter’s Coalition’s efforts to go out and talk with citizens, and to educate and register voters, furthers the exempt purposes of the organization because it engages and empowers the citizens of Dougherty County and Southwest Georgia regarding their right to vote, the process for voting, and their voting choices. Approximately, 80% of the organization’s time is spent engaging with citizens. The remaining 20% of the time is spent organizing volunteers, reaching out to potential partners, fund raising, and planning for special events.

“Nine weeks of hustle & outreach. Nine weeks of believing we are in this together. Decades of strategy, grit + building. Wednesday’s terrorism seeks to distract us from what has been & what will be. So let’s take today to celebrate the orgs that brought us Tuesday’s victory: [Albany Voter’s Coalition]”

Our Team
Our Partners
We envision organizations and local elected officials joining in with this new movement "Albany Wins." We already have partnerships with assisted living homes, the Albany Sheriff’s Office, the Housing Authority, and homeless serving programs, in addition to elected officials all over the county. We are developing a partnership with the Salvation Army to identify a mailing address for homeless residents. We also have an existing relationship with the City Shelter and are developing a more formal partnership. Homeless serving organizations meet every Monday at 1:00pm.
We also have important partnerships with Fair Fight Georgia, SONG, Working Families Party, WorkSource, Albany Works, Spread the Vote, Albany Technical University, and Second Mt Olive Church. With this program we have hope, compassion and gratitude as we stand together.
